Lights are blasting and music is pumping but the place is bare and it's a bit depressing.Your crowd is all milling around awkwardly, so you pull up a chair and join people-you-know and people-you-don't-know at a table in a corner. Your friend turns to you and says:Do you want a drink?,and in reply, you make strange hand motions because you're too lazy to even try and talk over the music.Strange hand motions are being met with a questioning glance so you shout that:your money is upstairs and you're too lazy to get it.'Tuesdays here,' is a phrase floating around and it jilts you out of your present state back to the summertime when it was roughly 5 degrees hotter. Swap and minus, plus a few people and you've pretty much got the exact same scenario.Tuesdays are the nights we always end up talking about when planning a week.Tuesdays are the nights where someone always gets inexplicably - actually no, it's explicable - drunk.Tuesdays really deserve their own label on this blog. It's really disorientating returning to the same spot you haunted so frequently only a few months ago when things were completely different. The place is the same. Well, no: there's a tree above the entranceway, and um, maybe there are a few new faces out and some of the posters don't look familiar? But really - it hits you and it's such a strange sensation. You're noticing the missing bits: Lizzy is meant to be beside you, and when they start playing 'Hey Soul Sister,' you look around wildly as if just having the song playing will magically ping her back, but it doesn't happen. The bar slut is too, absent, and whilst you don't miss her quite as much, it's sad not seeing her familiar head - and occasionally, inappropriate bits hanging out - on the bar.
SO, what's been new with me lately?

Photo from... drumroll please... TUESDAY. I had to do a bit of choosing to find a photo that wasn't awful. NOT DRUNK, JUST UNPHOTOGENIC!!!
I've decided, for the sake of this entry, to just be a shit human being and update in non-chronological order, just starting with whatever the hell I feel like.
(1) So, finally went back to Carnegies for $10 Tuesday. Got a high-five from the bouncer and we exchanged Yay!s when he noticed my birthday had just passed and that I was actually allowed in. As above describes, we just chilled around for a bit, and it got ridiculously busy in the space of - not even a song, a verse of a song, when the music suddenly changed to the upbeat mainstream stuff they usually play. Even though i'm so ~unconventional (ooh)~ with my music, I do know most of the playlist because it's just the standard stuff, and I must say it's nice to actually know music, and not just hear the sound of robots throwing up (dubstep.)
There were a few awfully awkward moments during that night, but I think most of them were saved slash so awkward that they were simultaneously hilarious and will hopefully just become another 'funny story,' for my 'funny stories that I can just pull out and tell to seem funny.' bank. I also saw Mikayla - who is in my halls back at uni - for a bit. Well, I spoke to her for a bit; spotted her dancing on the bar and when I tried to wave, almost hit someone so I stopped waving. So bizarre seeing a uni person here - my whole World spun and I thought I was back in UK and then it stopped and I realised where I was and everything just got incredibly confusing.
(2) Last Thursday - You'll noticed I just skipped the entire weekend and Monday. This is because I just did not do anything worth noting. Not that anything I do report on is worth noting, it's just that these particular events were so boring, that even I won't want to read back on them in the future - I had a lovely night out with the girls! We had a nice catch up session (also see: us all drunkenly dragging information out of each other,) and got a lot of free drinks from some loaded randomer who invited us to his table. Couldn't possibly turn down fancy champagne and wine, knowing that it'll probably be the most expensive thing I will ever drink.

"Something fruity!" We asked the bartender. Good thing I don't know what the fuck these were, cause if I did, I'd be in danger of drinking them literally all the time.

(3) Today, - well, yesterday, 'cus it's 2 in the morning now, - we had Christmas dinner! Early Christmas dinner, rather. I managed to somehow go from 'Kitchen disabled,' to 'Domestic Goddess' and actually - if I do say so myself BAM MINUS MODESTY POINTS - produced some edible, rather nice cupcakes:

The night was full of amazing food - just woken up from my food coma (not literally,) - and full of much laughter as we ended up just telling ridiculous stories and watching the stupidest, most hilarious videos online. We've also planned to learn the most ridiculously amazing dance to 12 Days Of Christmas, which we are planning to suddenly bust out in during a ridiculous spontaneous flash mob in the middle of Carnegies tomorrow for santathon!
I've gone back to what appears to be exclusively blogging about being out. I still vouch that I'm not an alcoholic. My days are just filled with otherwise relatively mundane activities. My friends are a bunch of night owls! I mean, I could blog about how today I tested myself against fairylights by walking down Ap Liu street and trying to walk past the light shops. I mean, I did succeed in that I didn't buy anything, but that was probably just my lack of money speaking. I did stand and stare at the lights in every. single. store, like some kind of weird socially awkward magpie who is attracted to glowing things, but does not even dare to enquire about the price. See, I'm even boring myself already. (As well as giving future!me a negative impression of past - or is it current? - me.) And now I've reached the point of just questioning and second-guessing myself, so I guess it's time for bed!
